Above market

Compensation

We pay above market to attract and retain the kind of talent that takes initiative, solves problems and helps accelerate your business.

Local and European

Access

Our Sri Lankan founder brings a deep local network and knows how to find the strongest candidates. Our European founder knows what it takes to find the right fit for your team.

Continuous

Development

We give our team the training, tools and knowledge-sharing to do their jobs better: using AI effectively, learning from colleagues in other disciplines.

Our process

Four steps. Four weeks.

Each hire is tailored to your specific business needs.

Finding the right person takes time. Replacing the wrong one takes longer.

  1. Week 1

    Scope the work

First, we listen. In a 30-minute conversation we learn your business, the role, and what you need from the person joining your team.

  2. Week 2

    Source and screen

We search our local network and the leading job platforms, then test for experience, English and the specific skills your role requires.

  3. Week 3

    Interview

The founders interview every finalist themselves, for attitude, judgement and fit. This is where we decide who is genuinely right for your team.

  4. Week 4

    Recommend

One to three vetted candidates, with the assessments behind them. Meet them yourself if you’d like, then choose who joins your team.

Why week three is the one that counts

Skill is the easy half. Fit is the half that fails.

Finding someone who can do the job is easy. Finding someone you can trust to do it well when you’re not in the room is harder.

For remote teams, attitude, judgement, communication and reliability matter just as much as technical ability. That’s why we recruit to your specific role, test the skills that matter, and have our founders personally assess every finalist before we introduce them to you.

The goal isn’t to give you a pool of candidates. It’s to handpick the people we genuinely believe will work well with your team.

  • You make the final choice. We make sure every candidate is worth considering.
  • Exclusively yours. The right fit, full confidentiality, and undivided attention.

FAQ

Questions we get asked often.

Is the person shared with other clients?

No. We do not run a shared pool or a bench. Every person is recruited specifically against your brief, interviewed by you, and works on your account only. Naut Space stays the employer and handles performance, QA, payroll and tooling.

How good is English in Sri Lanka?

English is an official language of Sri Lanka and the working language of its professional sector. Our specialists are assessed at CEFR C1 to C2, and we test written English and async communication specifically, not just conversation.

What timezone is Sri Lanka and how much overlap will I get?

Sri Lanka is GMT+5:30, but your team works your hours rather than ours. For European clients that lands on a normal Colombo working day. For US clients it means working overnight here, which is why we screen for it when we hire: night shifts genuinely suit some people and not others, and we place the ones they suit. Either way, the overlap is your whole working day.

How long does it take to get started?

Three to four weeks to a shortlist. We scope the role, source and screen against it, interview the finalists ourselves, and come back with one to three candidates for your decision. We recruit to your brief rather than placing whoever is on a bench, which is what those weeks buy you. After you pick someone, the start date depends on them: some can begin immediately, and others are serving notice with a current employer, usually a month. We weigh that up when we decide who to put in front of you, so tell us how urgent the seat is and we will work to it.

Who do I contract with, and who handles compliance?

You contract with Naut Space. One agreement, one monthly invoice, and no local entity for you to register. We hold the relationship with the specialist in Sri Lanka, handle how they are engaged and paid, and keep that side compliant with local law, so none of the local administration or filings reach you.

Can we buy out the placement?

Yes, and the buyout terms sit in the agreement from day one. For the first eighteen months the buyout fee is four months of the service fee for that role. After eighteen months there is no buyout fee at all: you move them onto your own payroll and we support the transfer. The fee covers the search we ran and the notice we lose when they go, and it is a flat figure you can work out in advance, with no percentage of their first-year salary on top. We think good people should be able to end up permanently employed by the team they work with every day, so the route is priced in the open.

What happens if the person is sick, on leave, or leaves?

If someone leaves, we find a replacement at the same level and your service fee does not change. The new person arrives with the same 30-day guarantee the first one had. Our people work a two-month notice period, so in most cases the person leaving is still with you while their replacement is being briefed, and the handover happens between them rather than landing on you. Annual leave is planned with you in advance, and sick days work the way they do for anyone else on your team.
