Guarantee
You only pay for month one
if it’s a fit.
Hiring someone you have never met, in a country you have never worked in, is a leap. We take the risk out of your first month.
The promise
Work with your new hire for a full month. If they are the right fit, you keep them and month one is invoiced alongside month two, on your month two invoice at the start of that month. If they are not, you tell us before day 30, that month costs you nothing, and we start the search again at no charge.
“Not the right fit” means the person we placed has not met the standard we agreed in the brief: the work itself, or the reliability, communication and judgement the role needs. That is our hiring call to get right, so it is our cost when we get it wrong.
How it works
- Day 1
- The promise starts from the candidate’s first day working with you.
- Days 1–30
- You work with them the way you would with anyone on your team. We check in, and you tell us early if something is off, so we have a chance to fix it while it is still small.
- By day 30
- You tell us whether to continue. An email to the founders is enough.
- If you continue
- Month one is charged at the agreed rate on your month two invoice, which goes out at the start of the month.
- If they were not the right fit
- You pay nothing for that month. We either source a replacement at no charge, or you walk away owing us nothing at all. Your call.
- If your own plans change
- If you stop for a reason that is not about the hire, you pay for the days they actually worked up to the day you tell us, and nothing beyond that.
What it covers
- The first hire of a new engagement. It applies to the person we place with you at the start of working together.
- Performance against the brief we agreed. Capability on the actual work, reliability, communication and judgement. If they fall short on those, the month is on us.
- The full month. Whether it becomes clear on day 3 or day 29, the month is free if you decide against continuing.
- The replacement search. Sourcing, testing and interviewing again costs you nothing.
The limits, stated plainly
A guarantee that is vague about its edges is worth less than one that is clear about them, so here are ours.
- The decision lands before day 30. After that the engagement is running normally and the usual 60 days’ notice applies. The guarantee is a window rather than a standing right.
- A change of plan on your side is not a guarantee claim. If the hire has done the job and met the brief, and you stop anyway because the budget moved, the role was cancelled, the team restructured or you simply decided against filling the seat, you pay for the days they worked up to the day you tell us. Days worked, at the pro-rated rate, rather than the whole month.
- One free restart per engagement. We will re-run the search once at no cost. If the second placement is also wrong, we would rather sit down and work out what the brief is missing than keep hiring against it.
- Costs you incur directly are yours. Software seats, hardware you chose to ship, or anything you contracted for outside our invoice.
Why we do it this way
Every objection to hiring offshore is a version of the same worry: that you will be locked into paying for someone who cannot do the job, and that the person who sold you the hire will stop answering the phone once the invoice clears.
Carrying the first month ourselves is the most direct answer we can give to that. It means we only make money when the placement works, which puts our incentive where it belongs, in the interview rather than in the sale. It is also why the founders interview every finalist personally. We are the ones who pay for a bad call.
The line we draw is at our own judgement. A hire who does not meet the brief is a mistake we made and should carry. A role you decide against for your own reasons is not a mistake at all, and someone still did the work, so that work gets paid for.
Common questions
What counts as “not the right fit”?
Anything where the person we placed has not met the standard set out in the brief. That covers the work itself, and it equally covers reliability, communication, initiative and judgement. You do not need to build a case against them. Tell us what is falling short and we will take it from there.
What if I stop for reasons that are not about the hire?
Then you pay for the days they actually worked, pro-rated from the agreed monthly rate, up to the day you tell us. Budgets move and plans change, and we would rather that be a short conversation than a dispute. What we will not do is absorb the cost of completed work when the person we placed did everything we said they would.
When is month one actually invoiced?
With month two. Invoices normally go out at the start of the month they cover, so nothing is billed for month one until you have told us to continue. Your first invoice arrives at the start of month two and carries both months.
Does the hire still get paid?
Yes. They are our employee. They are paid in full for every day they worked, whatever you decide. The cost sits with us.
What if I am unsure at day 30?
Tell us. In practice this usually means something specific is not working and can be addressed. We would rather have that conversation on day 20 than lose a good placement to a silence.
Do I have to take a replacement?
No. You can end it there and owe nothing.
Is there a placement fee if I keep them?
No. There is never a placement fee. You pay one monthly invoice that includes payroll, tax, equipment and management.
